“I’ve been sleeping on couches just trying to make ends meet. I pray this optimism is enough to sustain me. Sometimes you can’t just close your eyes and pretend that you’re home. When home is not a place we can go we’ll live on in the hearts of the friends that we’ve met on this trip, who understand what we’re after. We’re all just trying to find out who we’re supposed to be. And in a strange way it’s comforting just to know that we’re not alone, that the world can be this cold and indifferent to anyone. We’ve all misplaced ourselves.

Just give me something that I can believe in. I want to, I want to believe again. You give me something that I can believe in. I won’t let go of anyone who’s held me up through the worst of this.

It’s getting harder these days to relate to the shit that I say to myself and to anyone who will lend an ear to my too often transparent, positive outlook. Nothing’s as it should be, but I’m getting better now.”
